The Essential Employee - Facilitation Guide Synopsis
The purpose of the facilitation guide is to provide trainers and teachers with tools to implement “The Essential Employee” as a text in a learning environment. This synopsis provides an overview of the facilitation guide so you’ll know whether to invest in it.
The facilitation guide is based on ten 45-60 minute sessions. It provides suggestions for learning activities both in and away from the classroom environment. The guide provides opportunities for the learner to experience the three stages of learning -- Knowledge Acquisition, Application, and Reflection (derived from Blooms Taxonomy).
Students will receive the book “The Essential Employee—The Adventures of Carmen Senz” at the beginning of the course (during Session 1). The reading assignment is basically one chapter per session. Chapters are 10-20 pages long, and the reading is easy (approximately 6th grade level). Each session includes learning objectives, facilitation points, and a variety of activities to promote reflection on past experiences and application to future experiences.
The guide also describes take-home assignments and follow-up with features that include journaling, peer coaching, and outside activities that drive the learning home with practical experience.
Following is an overview of each session’s learning objectives and a sample of the activities defined in detail in the guide: |
